This course sharpens your skills acquired in prior courses by continuing to develop your sign vocabulary, focusing on conceptually accurate signing, improving everyday phrases/conversational skills, and increasing your confidence as you socialize with members of the Deaf Community. You will engage in class activities designed to challenge and develop your current skills. You will continue to develop your knowledge of the Deaf Community, culture, and history. Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed ASL II or equivalent and have a thorough knowledge of fingerspelling, casual introductory conversation, and a vocabulary of at least 300 signs.

Cassandra M. Ammons is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She is the American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor at Clayton State University, Continuing and Professional Education (CaPE). She graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a BA in Accounting and received her Certification in The ASL Immersion Training Program for Interpreters from Floyd College. Cassandra finds gratification in taking her students on a journey through any subject, watching them grasp the information, complete the course feeling confident, and wanting to continue the learning experience.
