Welcome to our Excel course, designed for newcomers or anyone seeking a solid foundation in the application; it introduces core functionalities and essential tools so learners can manage and analyze data with confidence, starting with an introduction to Excel's interface and fininshing up with collaborative tools.
In today's data-driven world, efficiency is key. Excel provides the foundation for solving complex problems, automating repetitive tasks, and presenting data in a clear and compelling way. This course will guide you through the essential functions and features of Excel, enabling you to work smarter, not harder. We'll focus on practical applications, ensuring you leave with skills you can immediately apply to your work and personal projects.
Introduction to Excel: Familiarize yourself with Excel's interface, including ribbons, toolbars, and navigation techniques. Understand workbook and worksheet structure.
Basic Data Entry and Formatting: Learn how to enter, edit, and format data, including text, numbers, dates, and currencies. Apply basic formatting options to improve readability.
Formulas and Functions: Get started with simple formulas and functions, including SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, and COUNT. Learn how to use cell references and basic operators to perform calculations.
Basic Spreadsheet Techniques: Master essential techniques such as copy/paste, using the fill handle, and adjusting cell size. Learn to use templates and basic workbook management tips.
Printing and Page Layout: Prepare worksheets for printing by setting print areas, adjusting page layout, and previewing before printing.
Advanced Formulas and Functions: Explore more complex formulas including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and nested functions to streamline data analysis and enhance efficiency. Learn to use advanced logical functions, such as IFS and dynamic named ranges.
PivotTables and PivotCharts: Gain proficiency in creating and customizing PivotTables and PivotCharts to summarize and analyze large datasets quickly.
Data Visualization: Master advanced chart types, images and graphic art to create visually compelling and informative reports.
Collaborative Tools: Understand how to work with Excel's collaborative features including sharing workbooks, tracking changes, and protecting data.

The course is available in both instructor-led and self-paced formats, with interactive exercises, real-world examples, and hands-on practice to reinforce learning. Hybrid: The first few classes will be oncampus We will then transtion to a virtual environment.
