The Special Equipment course provides students with hands-on training in the use of advanced film equipment commonly employed in the film industry to achieve high production value shots and scenes. The course focuses on both the technical operation and creative application of these tools to enhance storytelling.
Course OverviewStudents will gain expertise in:
- " Operating a Doorway Dolly for smooth camera movements.
- " Using a Jib Arm to capture dynamic overhead or sweeping shots.
- " Assembling and securing a Car Mount for vehicle-based filming.
- " Configuring and utilizing a 4-axis gimbal stabilizer for stabilized fluid camera motion.
Additionally, students will learn the fundamentals of shot design specific to each piece of equipment and how to integrate these tools as narrative components in their projects.
Learning Materials Required Textbook: Cinematography, Theory and Practice (3rd Edition) by Blain Brown (ISBN: 978-0-240-81209-0).
External Hard Drive: For storing and managing project files.
