This course will enhance skills acquired from American Sign Language II Intermediate/Advanced (ASL), continue vocabulary development, and everyday phrases. Improving fluency and ASL grammar/structure, and receptive-expressive signing and fingerspelling skills will continue to be developed. Focus will be on Introductions to Classifiers, Descriptions, and Directions. You will continue to develop your knowledge of the Deaf Community, Culture and History. You will have the opportunity to communicate with members of the Deaf Community in a social environment. Prerequisite: Must have completed ASL II Intermediate/Advanced or equivalent.

Going I-75 South or North, take exit 233 and turn left. Go to sixth light and turn right on Clayton State Blvd. Take the next right at traffic light onto North Lee Street and then left on Simpson Drive. The Harry S Downs Center for Continuing Education will be the last building on your left. You will pass Spivey Hall and the Music Education Building.

Cassandra M. Ammons is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She is the American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor at Clayton State University, Continuing and Professional Education (CaPE). She graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a BA in Accounting and received her Certification in The ASL Immersion Training Program for Interpreters from Floyd College. Cassandra finds gratification in taking her students on a journey through any subject, watching them grasp the information, complete the course feeling confident, and wanting to continue the learning experience.
