This course is designed to reinforce all your acquired ASL skills. You will continue to focus on improving the use of and adding classifiers to your everyday conversation, build and develop your confidence to communicate effectively with family, friends, co-workers and others you encounter who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing. Focus on continuing to feel confident and comfortable to express your thoughts in ASL as you immerse yourself in the Deaf Community while volunteering on various levels with Deaf Organizations and attending Deaf Events. Prerequisite: Must have completed ASL IV, equivalent, or permission from Instructor.

Cassandra M. Ammons is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She is the American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor at Clayton State University, Continuing and Professional Education (CaPE). She graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a BA in Accounting and received her Certification in The ASL Immersion Training Program for Interpreters from Floyd College. Cassandra finds gratification in taking her students on a journey through any subject, watching them grasp the information, complete the course feeling confident, and wanting to continue the learning experience.
